The Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) is the primary system through which the trade community reports imports and exports to Customs & Border Protection (CBP). Through ACE,  as the US Customs Single Window, manual processes are streamlined, automated, and paper is eliminated.  The trade community is also able to more easily and efficiently comply with U.S. laws and regulations.

The ACI (Advance Commercial Information) program is about providing CBSA officers with electronic pre-arrival information so that they are equipped with the right information at the right time.  ACI helps to identify health, safety and security threats related to commercial goods before the goods arrive in Canada.

The Release Notification System (RNS) offers a timely and efficient notification of CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency) release decisions by providing brokers, importers, carriers and warehouse operators with electronic messages. The CBSA instantly notifies RNS participants when a transaction is released and when a Pre-arrival Review System transaction is approved.

The D4 Notices will eventually replace the RNS messages but for now, clients are using RNS or D4 or both sets of messages.
